The purpose of the article is to explore the fundamental nature of artificial intelligence and explore its evolution in the sports industry. The article is devoted to how artificial intelligence has influenced the development of sports practices, expanding opportunities and optimizing strategies in the sports environment. The article delves into the fundamental essence of the concept of artificial intelligence, defining it as a branch of science and technology aimed at creating systems capable of performing intellectual tasks that usually require human cognition, such as learning, decision-making and data analysis. The study shows that artificial intelligence includes the ability to automate complex processes, analyze huge amounts of data and make predictions, which is crucial for improving the effectiveness of training in sports. The principles underlying the functioning of artificial intelligence allow it not only to simulate human activity, but also to perform tasks with high accuracy, optimizing the decision-making process in real time and providing valuable information for sports results. The article provides a detailed analysis of the key stages of the integration of AI into the sports industry, starting from the late 1990s, when the first AI systems for analyzing sports data appeared, and also demonstrates some specific systems using AI technologies. The study emphasizes that AI allows for highly accurate measurements and analyses, significantly reducing the cost of time and resources in various operational processes of sports activities. Artificial intelligence has become an indispensable part of the sports industry, greatly enhancing various aspects of sports activities, from training and performance evaluation to decision-making processes.
