The paper provides a statistical analysis of the uniformity of the level of preparation of applicants for the unified State exam (USE) in Ryazan and the Ryazan region in the key subjects for engineering education – mathematics, physics, computer science, as well as the compulsory subject of the Unified State Exam for all applicants – the Russian language. The analysis of the sample proportions of applicants who entered the Russian State Technical University through a general competition among the urban population and the region is given. The purpose of the work is to analyze trends in the quality of preparation of applicants in educational institutions of secondary general education in the regional capital and districts as a whole by arrays of sample populations of 11th grade graduates in the period from 2019 to 2024.
