Elections are symbols of a representative democratic government. In cognizance of this reality, the study interrogates the significance or non-significance of presidential election cycle in 2015 and 2023 respectively to democratic consolidation. From a qualitative exploratory research design, the study found out that irregularities that marred the conduct and processes of these two presidential elections eroded ideals and practices of democratic consolidation. These irregularities came in their respective peculiarities and scale as adverse conditions to democratic consolidation. Hence, the study recommend for institutional reform and appropriate attitudinal dispositions to democratize future elections for democratic consolidation in Nigeria.
