Soviet culture represents the existential cultural totality that was established in the USSR during the years 1917-1991, being the fruit of the Soviet political and social system. The core of Soviet culture was represented by ideology, and the forms of culture (mass, artistic, behavioral, etc.) were organized according to ideological models. The Soviet and contemporary periods present different attitudes towards historical heritage. Through the present study, we aim to discuss aspects regarding the interpretation of some fields of the artistic culture of the Moldavian SSR in contemporary historiography and the attitude towards some objects of the cultural heritage, which were built during the years 1940-1991.
