Objectives The purpose of this study is to find out what this practical field experience means to college students who dream of becoming performance planners by applying industry-academia collaboration capstone design to their major fields of study for performance production and execution in order to enhance their practical skills. Methods To this end, a channel course was opened and operated as a capstone design course in the second semester of 2023 as part of the Link 3.0 project with five students from the Department of Global Culture at K University as the subjects, and the data from six in-depth interviews were analyzed. Results As a final result, we invited an indie band active in Seoul and held a performance. As a result, the satisfaction of the students who watched the performance was high, but it was an opportunity for them to grow more by directly going through the actual performance planning stage to the finishing process with their team members, and they experienced the practical field necessary as a performance planner. In addition, through this study on the entire process from the first planning stage to the finishing of the performance, it was found that the capstone design was an experience that could develop actual major capabilities for college students through an organic connection between professors, learners, and performance planning-related industries, and through the production and hosting of the performance, it was found that the field work ability and problem-solving ability were improved. Conclusions I As a result, it is important for college students to strengthen their capabilities through school subjects, but it is also necessary to expand the implementation of industry-academia collaboration capstone design courses that allow them to experience actual field work. It is hoped that this study will be helpful to students interested in performance production and execution, and that this research process will be used as basic data for the operation of industry-academia collaboration capstone design courses.
