The article provides information on the organization of the educational process at the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany of Bashkir State Medical University. The main directions of the department's educational activities are the continuous improvement of the theoretical and practical training of future specialists and the inclusion in educational programs of various areas of elective disciplines that reflect current areas of practical healthcare and allow you to build individual learning paths. Phytotherapy was the most sought-after area. The elective course programs are designed taking into account the degree of students' readiness to perceive the material on phytotherapy, therefore, for students of the Faculty of Medicine and Pediatrics, the program includes sections not only on phytotherapy, but also on the main issues of pharmacognosy. Learning along an individual trajectory, taking into account the choice of the most interesting elective disciplines for students, makes it possible to form their own worldview, allowing them to solve professional problems and use the knowledge gained for the benefit of people.
