Zahiruddin Mohammad Babur, the founder of the Mughal Empire in India, was not only outstanding military commander but also capable ruler who played a key role in urban development and infrastructure projects. By employing strong military strategies, he achieved major conquests in the Indian subcontinent and established the vast and centralized Mughal Empire in the region. The purpose of this research paper is to clarify the extent of Babur’s military and developmental contributions to the formation and consolidation of the Mughal Empire in India. This study is based on library research and the analysis of historical books and scholarly articles by reputable researchers which examines Babur’s achievements in both military and civil domains. The findings of the research indicate that Babur played a significant role in military conquests, territorial expansion, infrastructural activities, and overall development. The historical monuments and architectural structures remaining from this period serve as a clear evidence of these contributions. In conclusion, it can be said that Babur was not only great statesman and a skilled military leader, but also a prominent cultural figure who made substantial achievements in the scientific, literary, artistic, and infrastructural fields.
