he purpose of this study is to analyse the effect of work discipline and work environment on job satisfaction, with motivation as a mediating variable. This study employs a quantitative approach, utilising a questionnaire distributed to village officials throughout the Somagede sub-district. The population in this study consists of all village officials in the Somagede sub-district, with a saturated sampling technique used, which involves determining the sample size from the entire population of 106 respondents. Hypothesis testing was conducted using Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis with Smart PLS Version 4.0 software. The study's results indicate that work discipline has a positive and significant impact on work motivation. In contrast, the work environment has a limited impact on work motivation. Work discipline has a limited effect on job satisfaction, whereas the work environment has a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. Motivation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Work motivation mediates the relationship between work discipline and job satisfaction. However, work motivation does not mediate the relationship between the work environment and job satisfaction.
