The paper provides an analysis of the development of mathematical education in both secondary and higher education from the early 90s of the 20th century to the present. The author gives an assessment of the transformation processes of mathematical and, in general, natural science and technical education in Russia during this period. The author's view on the transformations designed to enhance the role and condition of mathematical education throughout the chain from school to university inclusive is presented. Keywords.
