The role of an active personnel policy is emphasized, including forecasting the need for specialists, developing professional growth programs and monitoring the condition of personnel. The purpose of the article is to show how a set of measures for material and non-material motivation, professional training and legal protection of personnel ensures the sustainable functioning of defense industry enterprises in the face of external challenges.
