Today, even in the early preschool age, there are mini basketball schools that are adapted for boys and girls, which contributes to the development of their love for sports and exercise. In the teaching of physical and health education from the first to the fourth grade of primary school, the elements of basketball are unfairly neglected. The aim of the research is to show the possibility of introducing elements of mini basketball in physical education classes in younger grades of primary school. All the elements shown are adapted to the age of the students and their abilities. The role of the teacher is reflected in adapting the basketball program to the age of the students so that learning the elements of basketball would be interesting for the students and so that they would feel safe. It is important to point out that the teacher is a very important person who, with his characteristics, abilities, and knowledge, leads the child through growing up as a person, and in the context of physical and health education, a potential future athlete. It is necessary for the teacher to be familiar with the rules, methods, and basketball games so that he can plan and program the basketball program. In this case, the role of the teacher is to adapt basketball learning to all students and to make basketball as interesting and acceptable as possible, regardless of their acquired knowledge and skills of basketball.
