Selective laser melting (PBF-LB|M) is an additive manufacturing process in which components are built up layer by layer from metal powder. Especially small quantities of metal powder can be hard to purchase, when certain alloys are needed, which are not in stock or in development of the suppliers. Hence, this work focuses on the development of tailored metal alloys by using different powders. They are blended priorly and processed within the PBF-LB|M process. Relevant influencing factors like laser power and scan speed but also remelting are varried and their influence on porosity and homogeneity of the components are determined. The aim is to optimize the homogeneity and porosity in such a way that the components made from tailored powder blends have the same mechanical and corrosive properties as prealloyed materials. Different analysis are conducted to show the final results.
