Motivation: The 5T ultra-high-field MRI could offers high-resolution structural and functional imaging of the kidneys. However, its potential in distinguishing different stages of Chronic kidney disease remains unclear. Goal(s): To explore the value of 5T ASL magnetic resonance imaging and morphological indexes for staging chronic kidney disease. Approach: Prospective analysis of renal blood flow and morphological differences in 95 patients with stage 1-5 of CKD. Results: The morphological indicators and quantitative parameters of ASL allow effective assessment and differentiation across 5 different stages of CKD. Impact: In conclusion, the synergistic application of ASL and morphological assessment utilizing 5T MRI facilitates a noninvasive, precise, and comprehensive functional and morphological evaluation, which is pivotal for the clinical staging of CKD.
