Motivation: Clinical MRI scanners lack sufficient SNR for high-resolution small animal imaging, limiting research on diseases. Goal(s): Design a compact, wireless array to improve SNR and enable high-resolution imaging in small animal MRI at 5T. Approach: In this study, we made a wireless array and compared its imaging performance with the rat coil. Results: The wireless coil achieved high-resolution imaging of up to 0.2 mm × 0.2 mm × 0.5 mm in the 5T system. Impact: The experiment demonstrated the potential of wireless RF coils for high-resolution imaging in small animal MRI.
