Mediation as a voluntary means of dispute resolution can be an optional tool in the area of the implementation of tasks and functioning of local government units. This applies to the implementation of tasks assigned to government administration within and on the basis of the Act on Free Legal Aid (and in cooperation with the municipal government). The practice of the implications of mediation turns out to coincide with the legislator's assumptions. However, this practice is not without flaws and undesirable actions (H1). The above-mentioned research hypothesis has been confirmed in this way, providing a contribution to in-depth research on the issue of mediation in the structure of local government public administration as a factual mechanism in the implementation of public policies and tasks. The paper further indicates directions for potential in-depth research on the issue in question.
