The article examines the trends in the development of technological systems and the importance of introducing innovative technologies into various sectors of the national economy as one of the factors in solving the socio-economic problems of Ukraine. It has been determined that it is the innovative-technical and innovative-technological sphere that is the catalyst for economic development of most developed countries and a factor of sustainable development. It is the introduction of innovative technologies and the development of new technological systems that have made it possible for new sectors of the national economy to emerge. Different views of scientists and practitioners on the transition to higher structures of the domestic economy are investigated. After the full-scale military invasion of the occupiers, thousands of factories have been destroyed; some of them are located in temporarily occupied territory, which are either looted or destroyed. The other part, which is located in the frontline territory and almost throughout Ukraine, operates under constant rocket or mortar attacks. But even in such difficult conditions, Ukraine must go the way to an industrial state through technological transformation. The future, which needs to be built today, needs to be shaped through the implementation of the convergence of NBIC technologies: nano-bio, info-, cognitive technologies. The Ukrainian Institute of the Future claims that Ukraine can bypass the classical path to the sixth technological order and enter it immediately from the third. We support such a positive opinion about the path of transition to higher systems, taking into account Ukraine's raw material advantages – to focus on innovative transformations of the technological chain from iron ore mining to the production of metal-intensive products. Advanced innovative technologies have been researched and priority ones have been identified, which are aimed at the development of the defense-industrial complex. The development of the defense industry is a catalyst for the development of the technological sector of Ukraine
