The article elicits the possibilities of using neural networks in organizing language training for cadets of educa-tional institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and evaluates their didactic potential. The article aims at testing the methodology of using neural networks in the formation of professional foreign communica-tive competence of cadets of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The main hy-pothesis is that the specified methodology has didactic potential, which can be activated by creating special pedagogical conditions. The publication presents two types of educational tasks that involve the use of neural networks: the first task is aimed at developing the lexical skill of semantic differentiation of ideographic syno-nyms in legal terminology by constructing a denotative matrix; the second task includes the stages of infor-mation search and preparation of a thematic utterance according to a given compositional template. Both types of tasks were regularly introduced into the self-guided study of cadets who participated in the pedagogical ex-periment, after which a survey was organized. The results obtained show a positive attitude of students to the use of neural networks in the educational process and recognition of their high educational value. The con-ducted research revealed the need to rethink the received information and to give it a form different from that proposed by the neural network as conditions for the effective use of the considered method in the process of teaching the academic discipline “Foreign Language”.
