In August–September 2017, a trial excavation was conducted on Antonia Street, in the Bab H a tt a neighborhood in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City in Jerusalem (Permit No. A-8095; map ref. 222393–8/632012–22; Fig. 1), prior to the construction of a garbage room. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the East Jerusalem Development Corporation, was directed by R. Cohen, with the assistance of Z. ‘Adawi and Y. Kapil (inspection), N. Nehama (administration), M. Kahan (surveying), A. Wiegmann and O. Zakaim (plans and photogrammetry), E. Belashov (drafting), I. Taxel (pottery), T. Shadiel (archaeozoology), I. Lidsky-Reznikov (finds drawing), C. Amit (studio photography), I. Reznitsky (metals laboratory), G. Bijovsky (numismatics) and workers from the Pera h Ha-Shaked company.
