This study investigates the role of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices in enhancing the environmental performance of Egyptian hotels, given the growing challenges caused by excessive resource consumption, emissions, and waste. With the strategic importance of the hotel sector, adopting sustainable practices has become essential, especially in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research focused on four dimensions of GHRM: green recruitment, green training, green performance appraisal, and green rewards and incentives, aiming to assess their individual and collective effects on environmental performance. A descriptive-analytical approach was applied, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to 780 managers and employees in four- and five-star hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh. After excluding invalid responses, 678 valid questionnaires were analyzed, yielding a high response rate of 86.9%. Findings revealed significant positive relationships between all GHRM practices and environmental performance. Among them, green performance appraisal and green training showed the strongest effects, followed by recruitment and rewards. The overall model demonstrated strong explanatory power, emphasizing the importance of integrating all GHRM dimensions to achieve tangible environmental outcomes. The study recommends embedding green practices into hotel policies and strategies, developing recruitment and training programs based on environmental values, and linking rewards and performance appraisal to environmental achievements. Overall, the results highlight GHRM as a strategic tool for improving environmental performance and strengthening the sustainable competitive advantage of the Egyptian hotel sector.
