Methodological approaches to assessing the level of economic security in the medical device manufacturing industry

Subject. The article investigates problems of the health care system and medical device manufacturing industry in Russia. Objectives. The purpose is to develop tools to determine the level of economic security in the medical device manufacturing industry. Methods. The study rests on methods of content analysis and statistical analysis. Results. We developed a methodology to assess the level of economic safety in the medical device manufacturing industry. It implies to consider the import and import substitution in the medical device market, the availability of medical devices for citizens, and investment attractiveness of the medical devices market. Conclusions. An important condition for ensuring the economic security of the State is the monitoring of stable functioning of the health care system.
