Russia’s Role in Conflict Resolution in the Post-Soviet Space (Using the Example of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine)

The article presents several approaches explaining the “phenomenon of the post-Soviet space”. In the context of modern international political processes, an explanation is given for the changing role of the post-Soviet space in the modern geopolitical structure of the world. The authors examine the causes, consequences, and current state of crisis situations in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine, attempting to assess their impact on Russia’s national interests in the future. The aim of the article is to explore the peculiarities of political interaction between Russia and post-Soviet states – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine in the context of modern geopolitical processes. The objectives include determining Russia’s place and role in resolving conflicts arising in the territories of the aforementioned countries and identifying current issues related to ensuring national security in this context. Taking into account the internal political tensions and socio-economic instability in in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine, attention is focused on the issues of finding mechanisms for preventing and resolving ethno-territorial conflicts. In conclusion, this study illuminates the intricate interplay between Russia and its neighboring post-Soviet states in conflict resolution efforts. As Russia continues to assert its presence in shaping regional dynamics, there is a pressing need for proactive diplomacy and multilateral cooperation to mitigate tensions and promote stability. By leveraging its influence and diplomatic channels, Russia can contribute significantly to the resolution of conflicts, thereby fostering a more secure and prosperous future for the entire region.
