The article contains the results of a scientific understanding of the legal nature of the system of contracts related to maritime carriages. It is argued that it is necessary to include in the Merchant Shipping Code of the Russian Federation an article of the classification of the system of contracts related to maritime transportation, as well as the approval of terms and names for each type of contract.
