Recently, we have proposed an algorithm in 1 for the design of real-valued wideband beamformers using adaptive-array-theory-inspired weighted least squares, which can achieve precise control of wideband beampattern. In practical applications, however, the robustness issue which is particularly relevant for the wideband beamformer design, has not been addressed yet. In this paper, we bridge this gap and propose a robust version for the wideband beamformer design which can achieve the precise control of both wideband beampattern and robustness level. Simulation results are also presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed robust design scheme.
