At present, China's 5G deployment is mainly in the Sub-6GHz frequency band. With the further improvement of the 5G penetration rate and the rapid expansion of application scenarios, users' demand for 5G has begun to expand towards more segmented fields. In the future, it will gradually shift from low-frequency to high-frequency modes such as low-frequency and millimeter wave. The millimeter frequency band has abundant bandwidth resources, which can greatly improve communication speed and achieve the optimal 5G experience. As the core component of 5G millimeter (5G NR FR2) devices, millimeter chips mostly integrate antennas using advanced packaging technology, which has high requirements for frequency, bandwidth, and OTA test approaches. This paper will introduce 5G millimeter (5G NR FR2) application scenarios, worldwide market trends, device trends, and the testing challenges of such devices, as well as the mass production testing solutions on the ADVANTEST V93000 platform.
