The budget deficit can be interpreted as an indicator of the financial health of a state, but also as a specific objective of the budgetary-fiscal policy. National economies tend towards balancing the state budget. Currently, the budget deficit is an acute problem as a result of phenomena that have manifested themselves globally, for example the COVID-19 pandemic. The Republic of Moldova was significantly affected by this phenomenon, as proof of the budget deficit, which recorded a very critical level in the evolution of the economy. This paper aims to carry out an analysis of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis on the level of the budget deficit in the Republic of Moldova.
