"The aging of the population is a widely observed structural phenomenon in modern societies. With the increase in life expectancy, there has been a significant growth in the number of elderly individuals worldwide. This demographic shift poses significant challenges of a social, political, and economic nature, requiring special attention regarding the active maintenance of older individuals in the labor market. The present study aims to reflect on the current scenario of population aging in Brazil and the contribution of cooperativism to active aging and social inclusion of the elderly. Through a descriptive and exploratory research approach, utilizing bibliographic procedures, the study culminated in identifying cooperativism as a crucial strategy for promoting active aging and constructing a more inclusive society.
