The purpose of this study was to determine whether the ethanol extract cream of areca seeds (Areca cathecu L) can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. The type of research conducted was a type of laboratory experimental research, by testing the inhibition of the areca seed ethanol extract cream against Staphylococcus aureus. Be concluded that areca seed ethanol extract cream can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus with a diameter of inhibition zone for 1% concentration of 6.55 mm, 2% concentration of 11.4 mm, 3% concentration of 16.5 mm, negative control 0 mm, and positive control 26.62 mm.
