The internationalization of higher education has accelerated worldwide, prompting universities to adopt institutional mechanisms for attracting and supporting international students. In Korea, the establishment of international colleges dedicatedto foreign students has emerged as a strategic response to enrollment shortages caused by demographic decline and the need to enhance global competitiveness. While such colleges contribute to student recruitment and the strengthening of international standing, their sustainable operation requires institutional refinement, financial investment, and balanced interaction between domestic and international students. Future studies should move beyond the college level to include departments and academic programs, offering a more comprehensive analysis of internationalization models in Korean higher education.
