The article discusses the issue of English loan words in the Russian computer discourse. The purpose of the study was to identify the features of their linguistic adaptation and to assess the relevancy of their abundance in professional communication of IT-specialists. The lexical material of the study was obtained by interviewing testers of one of the Russian IT-companies. During the research the relevance of verbs was established. Phonetic and graphic adaptation was represented by transcription, grammatical – in acquisition of gender category by nouns and set of inflections by verbs, word-formation adaptation was represented in combining native Russian derivational affixes with anglicisms and semantic adaptation was expressed in clear interpretation of anglicisms meanings by the respondents. The lack of the short Russian equivalent was the main reason for professional anglicisms usage. As a result, it was concluded that the use of professional anglicisms by Russian IT-specialists was relevant.
