Abstract This study examines the critical role of technological innovations in higher education, specifically addressing their contribution towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) between 2020 and 2024. Employing a combined methodology of bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review, the research analyzes trends, methodologies, key themes, and the impacts of technology integration on educational inclusivity, equity, and quality. Findings indicate a prominent global emphasis on SDG4 (Quality Education), while also highlighting meaningful intersections with SDG9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). These intersections reflected an increasing global effort to integrate digital innovations not only to overcome educational disparities and enhance learning outcomes, but also to advance broader goals of sustainability, equality, and innovation across different fields. Methodologically, quantitative research predominates, complemented by qualitative and mixed-method studies, revealing robust insights into technological adoption. However, substantial barriers exist, including limited technological access, financial constraints, and stakeholder resistance, necessitating targeted policy frameworks, infrastructural enhancements, and comprehensive professional development for educators. Key sustainability and scalability factors identified include learner-centered strategies, sustained infrastructure investments, and collaborative stakeholder engagement. Recommendations highlight global collaboration, innovative pedagogical frameworks, and interdisciplinary research to further integrate technology in education, fostering inclusive and equitable outcomes.
