The article is devoted to the problem of the method of conducting a modern lesson using criteria for its effectiveness. The essence of the concept of “methodological literacy” is revealed from different points of view. The results of questioning teachers of various age and qualification categories in order to self-assess their activities in the lesson were analyzed. The results obtained are necessary to understand the teacher’s readiness to conduct a lesson in accordance with modern requirements in order to develop methodological recommendations and practical advice on improving the organization and methodology of teaching subjects aimed at improving the level of professional competence of the teacher.
