Follow-up Loss After Curative Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer: Incidence, Contributing Factors, and Survival Impact
Key Points
The study aims to determine the incidence of follow-up loss after curative gastrectomy for gastric cancer and its effects on survival.
Analyzed patient data post-curative gastrectomy for gastric cancer.
Identified factors contributing to follow-up loss such as age and familial support.
Assessed the impact of follow-up loss on overall survival rates in different patient stages.
Older age and absence of familial support were significant factors for follow-up loss.
Total gastrectomy correlated with higher rates of follow-up loss.
Follow-up loss was linked to poorer overall survival, especially in stage I patients.
Abstract
FUL after a gastrectomy was associated with older age, absence of familial support, total gastrectomy, and was related to a poorer OS, particularly in stage I patients.
