A conceptual model based on basic cloud physics reasoning has been combined with the results of a summer cloud seeding program (Project Cloud Catcher) to formulate hypotheses of precipitation efficiency in cumulus clouds. The hypotheses describe the dominant physical characteristics or mechanisms which are responsible for the efficiency with which a cloud system (seeded or unseeded) precipitates.
