Brown algae are recognized as a sustainable marine resource rich in bioactive compounds with diverse therapeutic applications. This bibliometric analysis investigates global research trends in the medicinal applications of brown algae, particularly in wound healing. Using data from 1,877 Scopus- indexed original articles, the study maps keyword co-occurrence, citation metrics, thematic evolution, and international collaborations. Results show a clear shift from foundational research on compound extraction and structural characterization toward advanced applications, including hydrogel formulation, biopolymer encapsulation, and antimicrobial wound dressings. Compounds such as fucoidan, alginate, laminarin, and phlorotannin demonstrate pharmacological properties anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory highlighting their role in chronic wound therapy. China leads global output, while France shows the highest international co-publication ratio. Despite increasing publication volume, citation rates show a declining trend, potentially due to citation lag and the saturation of early topics. Emerging research themes point to clinical integration and bioengineering innovations. Indonesia, though rich in brown algae biodiversity, remains underrepresented in international research networks. The study underscores the need for standardized extraction methods, large-scale clinical trials, and cross- border collaboration to optimize the biomedical potential of brown algae. This research supports the strategic development of marine bioproducts and enhances global efforts toward precision and sustainable healthcare solutions.
