“Side versus adverse effects of elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor therapy in people with CF”
Key Points
This study aims to differentiate between side effects and adverse effects of elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor therapy in cystic fibrosis (CF).
Analyzed real-world efficacy of elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor therapy in adults with CF.
Evaluated the nature and duration of side effects and adverse effects of the therapy.
Side effects from CFTR restoration are mostly self-limiting.
Adverse effects due to drug toxicity are more persistent and often lead to therapy discontinuation.
Abstract
ETI demonstrates robust real-world efficacy in adults with CF. Side effects due to CFTR restoration are generally self-limiting, whereas adverse effects from drug toxicity persist longer and are more frequently cause for permanent discontinuation of ETI.
