Neurodevelopmental conditions can have lifelong negative consequences in the absence of early diagnosis and appropriate treatment and support. Historically, there has been little reliable information about the epidemiology of neurodevelopmental conditions among tamariki and rangatahi living in Aotearoa. This information gap has hindered both clinical management and service planning. We aimed to provide estimates of prevalence for a range of neurodevelopmental conditions and to describe the patterns of these conditions by age, gender, ethnicity, deprivation, and rurality.
