Medical imaging is becoming more frequent and is largely accepted as an integral part of documenting injuries and illness, as well as for second opinion consults and peer review. The process of cataloguing those images, in an easily modifiable way, to enable filtering, search and access is less well established. With constraints on health resources and the strict onus on health services to maintain patient confidentiality, this presentation will highlight one simple and inexpensive solution. Whilst it was developed for use by a department of forensic medicine, it could be easily adapted and has applicability for any medical department where documentation of injury or disease has value and where teaching is undertaken.
