This study examines the impact of digital transformation on the retail sector in Comoros, a small archipelagic nation in North Africa. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys distributed among retailers, interviews with key informants, and secondary data analysis of government reports. Qualitative insights complemented quantitative findings. Digital platforms have significantly increased sales by up to 30% in some retail outlets, particularly those adopting online payment systems. However, there is a notable disparity between urban and rural areas, with online penetration being higher in larger cities. The study concludes that while digital transformation has brought economic benefits, it also exacerbates existing inequalities within Comoros' retail sector. Governments should provide targeted support to small retailers, especially those in underserved regions. Additionally, fostering a digital literacy campaign could enhance the adoption of new technologies among all stakeholders.
