Saturated ketones and unsaturated alcohols containing a 1,3-dioxane moiety were synthesized by selective reduction of α,β-unsaturated ketones obtained by condensation of 5-acyl-5-methyl-1,3-dioxane with various aldehydes in the presence of bases. Their anticoagulant and antiplatelet activity was studied. ()-3-(furan-2-yl)-1-(5-methyl-1,3-dioxan-5-yl)prop-2-en-1-one exhibits anticoagulant activity comparable to acetylsalicylic acid and reduces the rate of platelet aggregation by 1.6 times.
