Multiphase flow is the dynamic exchange between two or more different phases that share a single interface . The multiphase flows are common and play an important part in both natural and industrial processes, such as study the droplet for inkjet printer , the development of methods for the crude oil’s recovery and the microfluidic chip’s design . In many modern scientific and engineering applications, multiphase flows are becoming more and more significant. Even though there have been a large amount of theoretical and experimental studies in recent years, the multiphase flow is still a very active interdisciplinary research subject. Improved numerical algorithms have resulted in direct numerical simulations of multiphase phenomena, which has improved prediction of multiphase flow behaviour . There are roughly two types of numerical methods for multiphase flows: interface tracking methods and interface capturing methods.
