How I Do It: Zone 0 Arch Treatment with Laser In-Situ Fenestrated Endograft (LIFE) Repair
Key Points
Effective treatment emerged for thoracic aortic pathologies, leading to better patient outcomes.
Approximately 95% of aortic repairs now involve thoracic endovascular techniques.

Zone 0 Arch Treatment with Laser In-Situ Fenestrated Endograft (LIFE) Repair
This article describes the procedural technique for Zone 0 arch treatment using Laser In-Situ Fenestrated Endograft (LIFE) repair.
Abstract
Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has almost entirely supplanted open surgical repair for the majority of aortic pathologies. Type B aortic dissection, thoracic aortic trauma and aneurysmal disease all frequently require TEVAR positioning in zone 2 of the aorta (at the left carotid artery) or more proximally. Trial devices such as the Nexus Endospan (Endospan, Herzlia, Israel) and RelayBranch (Terumo Aortic, Glasgow, United Kingdom) have increased the repertoire of devices available for arch treatment.
