AbstractPresent study investigates the taxonomical and ecological diversity of freshwater fungi in the Palus tahsils of Sangli district. Fungal samples were collected from various aquatic sources, including water, submerged leaves, twigs and wood barkacross different sites of Palus tahsil. A diverse range of fungal species were identify, with several taxa such as Annulatascus hongkongensis, Zopfiella latipes, Cirrenalia indica, Matsusporium tropicale and Trichocladium englanese. These findings highlighted variations in substrate availability, together with ecological factors, which play a crucial role in regulating fungal distribution and diversity.
