Abstract

ABSTRACT Metformin, a widely prescribed and generally safe drug for diabetes mellitus, can rarely lead to metformin‐associated lactic acidosis—a severe, potentially fatal complication. Early recognition, emergency hemodialysis, and supportive management are crucial for favorable outcomes, highlighting the importance of prompt diagnosis and intervention to reduce mortality in this critical condition.
