This study focuses on climate justice-informed adaptation financing mechanisms in vulnerable African regions within a specific case study of Liberia. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews (n=30) and quantitative surveys (n=150) was employed to assess community needs and perceptions regarding climate justice and adaptation funding mechanisms. Statistical analysis using a linear regression model with robust standard errors was conducted to evaluate the impact of climate justice principles on financing decisions. Community members expressed strong support for climate justice principles, indicating that 85% preferred financing options aligned with these principles over those without such considerations (p < 0.01). The findings suggest a significant preference among Liberian communities for adaptation funding mechanisms that incorporate climate justice principles. Policy recommendations include the development and implementation of climate justice-informed adaptation financing frameworks, prioritising community engagement and equitable distribution of resources.
