Southern African communities in Côte d'Ivoire have long preserved oral traditions as a means of passing down history and cultural values. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review combined with interviews and observations in selected communities. A thematic analysis will be employed to interpret collected data. Oral traditions from these communities display consistent themes related to ancestral narratives, ritual practices, and environmental descriptions, indicating their robustness as historical sources. This study contributes to the understanding of oral tradition's role in preserving history within Southern African societies by highlighting its reliability and cultural significance. Further ethnographic research should be conducted to validate findings and explore how these traditions evolve over time.
