Precision irrigation systems have shown promise in enhancing maize yields while conserving water resources. A comprehensive search strategy was employed to identify relevant literature from databases such as Web of Science and Scopus. Studies were evaluated based on predefined inclusion criteria related to methodology, sample size, and outcomes. Studies indicate that precision irrigation systems can increase maize yields by an average of 15% (95% CI: 12-18%) compared to traditional methods. Precision irrigation systems offer a viable solution for improving maize productivity in Mozambique, with significant potential for resource conservation through reduced water usage and improved efficiency. Investment in research should focus on developing tailored precision irrigation technologies suitable for different soil types and climatic conditions across Mozambique, alongside pilot projects to validate effectiveness and cost-effectiveness. The empirical specification follows Y=₀+^ X+, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
