A systematic literature review employing econometric methods to analyse existing studies on district hospital systems in Senegal. Panel-data analysis revealed a positive correlation between investment in infrastructure and hospital efficiency, with an estimated elasticity of 0. 75 (95% CI: 0. 60-0. 85). The review underscores the importance of consistent data collection to inform policy decisions aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery. Policy makers should prioritise investment in infrastructure and quality control measures for district hospitals.
