Traditional dispute resolution mechanisms (TDRM) have played a significant role in resolving conflicts within communities in Equatorial Guinea for centuries. The study will employ qualitative research methods to explore how TDRM operate within Equatorial Guinean society, emphasising the cultural context and social dynamics that influence their efficacy. The theoretical framework underscores the importance of integrating TDRM with formal legal structures to enhance access to justice for all segments of society, particularly in rural areas where traditional methods are deeply ingrained. Recommendations include fostering dialogue between traditional leaders and modern legal authorities to ensure a harmonious blend of indigenous practices and contemporary laws. This collaboration could facilitate smoother transitions from informal to formal dispute resolution systems.
