Central Mozambique is a region where climate change impacts are significant, particularly affecting maize farming productivity and sustainability. A mixed-methods approach combining survey data with qualitative interviews to evaluate farmer perceptions and practices related to climate-smart agriculture. The study found that adoption rates of conservation farming, such as mulching and crop rotation, reached up to 60% among maize farmers in the region. Climate-smart agriculture techniques have shown promise in enhancing maize yield stability and resilience against climate variability in Central Mozambique. Implementing a farmer-led extension programme is recommended to accelerate the adoption of these practices, thereby improving agricultural sustainability.
