In this article, Alberto Donini compares the theory of Earth Expansion with that of Plate Tectonics, taking into account the hypotheses of Gravitational Hydrodynamics and the existence of Subtle Particles or Ether. The planet would have increased in diameter over many millions of years and the additional mass would have arisen from energy in the form of subtle particles, according to the inverse transformation E = mc2. The new particles of matter, generated by the flow of ether directed towards the centre of the planet, would have entered the system at a velocity comparable to the local one at the moment they materialised. If this had occurred, the LOD (Length Of the Day) would not have varied significantly over the last 500 million years, confirming palaeontological findings. The proposed solution is a harmonious combination of the two theories that have hitherto been at odds. Indeed, to achieve the correct positioning of continental margins on a smaller planet, as predicted by the Expanding Earth theory, these must also have translated and rotated relative to one another, as predicted by Plate Tectonics. The planet would be subject to predominantly asymmetric expansion over the long term, and a consequent repositioning of the poles, as well as intermediate phases of stasis and contraction, which would cause limited subduction.
